It is one of the worst institutions to study in. The students are expected to learn useless filler courses such as Value education, EVS and Personality development, on top of which, english and another language. Is this some kind of joke? why arent the studnets taught core subjects more? Plus, a lot of the faculty are not well educated and not able to teach even basic concepts.
A huge campus with a lot of greenery.. a lot of competition to get into this campus.. if at all u visit this campus once.. maybe you'll know why it is the way it's described.
Madras Christian College is one of the very lesser known colleges due to its location in Tambaram. As most of the arts colleges are located inside Chennai City centre, this is an exception which is in outer Chennai at Tambaram East. The college is located very close to the Tambaram Railway Station and it is at a walkable distance per se. The stark impression which the college makes on you as you enter its campus is the vast empty space with a good number of trees and the still silence which gives you a really good feel. Compared to other arts colleges, it is not very well crowded or populated but still has a considerable amount of students as an intake every year. The campus spans across a vast amount of space and there are multiple buildings spaced evenly among them at various quarters in the college with enough parking spaces and more importantly with a huge number of trees and makes it look lush green.
It is a widely spread college with lush greenery. Various courses are available. They have various campus placement drives. The campus is opposite to the Tambaram railway station.
I had visited the college for a 15 day internship in the botany department. The internship was really great. The halls (hostels) are also good. They have a canteen, society stores, chapel and farm inside the campus. Having a cycle will be really great to hang around on campus.
Got to see various animals like peacocks, deer, porcupine, rabbits and various birds. There are many restaurants near the campus. The campus has different gates (Main gate, Selur, Bank gates, Heber gate through which you can get in or out of the campus.
Wonderful institution to study arts and sciences. One of the top-rated colleges in Chennai and has very good staff and support staff members. The campus ambience is like heaven and I am really missing it now.
