We went there recently for dinner based on the rave Google reviews… unfortunately, we had a totally different experience, maybe it was Monday not the weekends(?) The food was not fresh - both of us had digestion issues after finishing the dinner; the lamb in the tandoori platter had a funny smell - we skipped them completely; the chicken was either bland, or on the super spicy side. The only ok course is the Kerala fish, decent but not to the level from my past experience. The dessert everyone said not to miss, the coconut yogurt (?) was nothing to write home about - a total disappointment. When it came down to check, the restaurant automatically added a 10% tip without asking - good thing that we checked and asked the server to take it off. At.close to $75 USD for two people, I am expecting a lot more in therms of quality. Quite a bomb in my opinion.
The food was very good . We really enjoyed . The first dinner of this year was worth it . The quality and the quantity was pretty good . They had alot of complimentary tapas given . Their marinated pineapple was superb. Infact we did ask them for a refill twice . Their must have would be the biryani it was superb .
If there is a seven star rating, I could give then J Hind @GRT would classify for that. There are multiple reasons why you would choose to take your friends, family or a corporate guest to this restaurant.
Right from the ambience it provides to the welcoming of the guests the seating and the service : excellent is the only word that you can say.
We had a corporate group of 20 guests which dined at this restaurant tonight. Bala, who is the manager took excellent care of all our needs. A specially curated menu was provided. As per pre-booked request. We had starters, Thupka for soup, finger, food, and the main coursez We had a choice of fusion food for starters to barbecues veg non-veg main course as well as deserts. No amount of pictures or words would be enough to express the brilliance of flavors that the chef brought out nor we can summarize the services offered in words. It was par excellence.
The most interesting part of this restaurant is their menu is absolutely made from healthy ingredients. For example, the Momo, were made with tapioca flour. The welcome drink was made from a local flower called Avarampoo, apparently has medicinal benefits. Finger food included, pineapple grill with curry leaves, dosa made with red bananas, and very many interesting fusion foods. If you are a vegetarian, you’ll be spoiled for choices here.
They did not hurry us at any point of time and we had a brilliant evening with the team tonight .
I’m adding a picture of the chef and the restaurant manager here just to express our gratitude and the brilliance of the service .
J Hind offers a delightful dining experience with a great selection of dishes. The food was very good, with standout recommendations being the non-veg platters and the bottle biryani, both of which were flavorful and well-prepared. The breads were fresh and enjoyable, though the gravies were just moderate and could use a bit more depth in flavor.
Service was another highlight—it was fast and efficient, with the staff being courteous and attentive. While the restaurant is on the pricier side, the portion sizes were generous, making it a fair value for the quality offered.
I had lunch one day and dinner another day at this place. It is inside GRT hotel and seems to attract both hotel patrons and outsiders. A very large menu with different sub continent cuisine options. Service was great. Food had good flavor profile, they made a vegan curry not on the menu. Reasonably vegan friendly. A bit pricy with big markups.
I would eat here if I am staying in the hotel and will host guests. If you are local it is a toss up.
