This place charges high, with a paltry self service facility & not all items are available. Padhir Peni isn't served at all. But it's in the menu. With poor seating arrangements. Food is average and can be compared to eating circles. But they (EC) provide better seating and ambience.
This place needs to work on many aspects. Food is ok. Karnataka Sambar actually needs work. The balance of spicy and sweety note isn't right.
Mangalore bun was gooood! Vada was ok. But Benne Dosa simply needs work. I've eaten in many udipi format based joints. Including the OG Davanagere Benne Dosa stall in Davanagere. This needs work @ Sashwatha cafe for the acceptably exorbitant price but no match to the quality.
The food is so satisfying especially the Benne Dosa with all the chutneys. Not a fan of the Sambhar, it was slightly sweet fir my palate. The crispy Vada and Rava Idly were heavenly. I absolutely loved the delicious food. The price is a bit on the higher side but service is fast and taste is worth all the money. Seating can be limited but the breakfast mess style interior gives a lovely experience. 10/10 recommended, I will visit again.
I have visited this place a few times now in span of 2-3 weeks mostly in the evening. They offer udupi, Mangaluru style food like buns, goli baaje , poori saagu, Besi Belle bath, Mysuru masala dosa, chai , coffee etc. It was great experience indeed. Food taste and quality was superb. Price also seems to be reasonably OK. Only self service option is available. I kind of liked the drinking water arrangement in large copper vessel and unique hand wash section .
They do have valet parking facility.
Only question to answer - is this place better than Eating Circles? YES, YES, YES!!
SC service is warmer, lots of smiles. The sambar is tastier. The Ven Pongal is OUTSTANDING. Medu Vadai is perfect. The dosais are good but slightly dry (really splitting hairs here), better at EC by the slimmest of margins. Idli and the chutneys are superb. For some reason, crowd seems less uptight here. Premises clean, no sparkling actually! Parking staff also smile here, valet parking is simple and quick. Lastly, prices here seem quite reasonable.
The best Bangalore darshini breakfast in Madras IMO. Period.
Visited this place over week end for Dinner. It was great experience indeed. Food Taste and quality was Superb. They do offer Choice for Sambar ( you will get Tamil Nadu sambar as well as Jain Sambar). Thata Idly / Mysore Masala Dosai / Mangalore Bonda /Coffee was awesome. Price also seems to be reasonably OK. They do have valet parking facility.
